Equation word problems (2º 3º ESO)


5.-I have got 12€. With that money I could go to the swimming pool two days, one to the cinema and I would still have 4,5 € left. The ticket for the swimming pool costs 1,5€ less than the ticket for the cinema. How much is the ticket for the cinema?

6.- When you mix 15kg of rice which costs 1€/kg with 25 kg of rice at an unknown price, you get a mixture which costs 1,3€/kg. What would be the price of the second type of rice?

7.- Jhon is 43 years old and he has three children whose ages are 14,12 and 9. How many years will pass until the sum of the ages of the children will be the same as the father’s age?

8.- The sum of the squares of two consecutive odd numbers 394. Calculate these numbers.

9.- Two cyclists start at the same time from opposite ends of a course that is 45km long. One cyclist is riding at 14 km/h and the second cyclist is riding at 16 km/h. How long after they begin will they meet?
